Calgary airport reverses decision to change accessible parking to Lexus-only

The Calgary International Airport (YYC) has posted a public apology after a decision to change its accessible parking stall locations. The airport came under heavy fire after turning accessible spaces to Lexus-only spots as part of a marketing campaign.
The airport said it hopes to make it up to passengers by reviewing policies to make sure it doesn’t lose sight of the importance of accessibility to passengers. Lexus Canada also apologized to anyone who was affected or offended. A spokesperson said it will more carefully scrutinize marketing campaigns in the future.

The Calgary Airport Authority hired Mr. Robert (Bob) Sartor as its new President & CEO on January 1, 2017. In March he vowed that under his tenure, customers will come first.
