74 year-old cyclist beaten with club in road rage incident

In the video, a man can be seen striking a cyclist at least four times with a small club as he pins him to the ground beside a black Dodge Ram pickup truck. When the driver realizes that he’s being filmed, he quickly gets up, pockets the club and shouts, “I tried to walk away!”

A witness said the two men had been arguing before the driver of the truck started clubbing the cyclist. “I felt like the man in the truck had every opportunity to leave,” the witness said. “Instead he got out of his vehicle.” The witness said that a few people tried to keep the driver of the truck from leaving until police came, “but he slammed his door, scoffed at everyone and drove away.”
Police arrested David Fox, 65, of Peterborough, and charged him with aggravated assault and assault with a weapon. He is scheduled to appear in court in August. CTV Toronto attempted to speak with Fox at his home.

Although a black Dodge Ram pickup truck was in the driveway, there was no answer at the door on Friday.
