Trump seen on video with mob-linked gambler he denied knowing

Donald Trump has said he didn’t know a mob-linked gambler who frequented his casinos — but newly unearthed video shows the two sitting together at a wrestling event. The video shows Trump standing beside Robert LiButti at a Wrestlemania match in Atlantic City in 1988.

The video later shows the pair sitting together, with Trump’s then-wife Ivana sitting on the real estate mogul’s other side. “We were his guests” LiButti’s daughter, Edith Creamer said. LiButti was banned from New Jersey casinos because of his ties to mob boss John Gotti.
The New Jersey Casino Control Commission levied $650,000 in fines against the Trump Plaza hotel over its dealings with LiButti, who gambled huge sums at the hotel’s casino. LiButti was on New Jersey’s blacklist, but he was still allowed into Trump’s establishment to play craps.

Trump denied knowing LiButti at the time, and he was not held personally liable for his hotel’s violations.
LiButti died in 2014.
