|A York Regional Police officer could have avoided killing a young woman if he wasn’t driving so fast, a court heard Monday. Det.-Const. Remo Romano has pleaded not guilty to dangerous driving causing death. Pedestrian Natasha Carla Abogado, 18, was hit at St. Clair and Warden Aves. on Feb. 12, 2014. Romano was the sole occupant of the pickup that hit Abogado. The vehicle wasn’t using police lights or sirens.|
Romano was working on Project Litterbox, an undercover investigation into commercial break-ins.
