Is Donald Trump Imploding?

Donald J Trump is having a bad week. His initial refusal to condemn his campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, who is accused of manhandling a female reporter, Michelle Fields, and lying about what happened is fully exposed. At the time, Lewandowski called Fields an "attention seeker" and called her "totally delusional," adding in a tweet to her, "I never touched you."

The Jupiter Police Department said Lewandowski was arrested Tuesday morning after turning himself in on the misdemeanor charge of simple battery.

She had a pen in her hand which the Secret Service is not liking because they don’t know what it is, whether it’s a little bomb,” Trump said on CNN.
If Trump wasn’t already in enough trouble with female voters, an NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll found that now forty-seven per cent of Republican women couldn’t imagine voting for him. He made things much worse on Wednesday, when he told MSNBC that women who seek abortions should be subject to “some form of punishment.”

After media outlets seized on those incendiary words, Trump issued a written statement recanting them.
Trump now trails Clinton by 9 points in the HuffPost Pollster polling average and by 11.2 points in RealClearPolitics' average — and he's behind Bernie Sanders by even more in both. Any of these showings from Trump would be the weakest performance from a major party nominee in the past 20 years.

Donald Trump brags that he's ahead of Hillary Clinton in the polls. "I beat Hillary Clinton in many polls," he repeatedly insists. That isn't true or even close to true.

In newer polls, Trump virtually never comes close to either Clinton or Sanders.
